Eric Doeringer has been very busy lately, sending ripples throughout the art world with several of his projects. All this is in addition to his busy job as a counselor for SVA’s Office of Admissions. Work from his Bootleg project will be included in a book called Charley 02, which features 142 postcard snapshots of the 2001-2002 New York art season. There will be a party for Charley 02, November 9 from 4 – 6pm at Printed Matter, 535 West 22 Street.
Mr. Doeringer will also have work in the Illegal Art exhibition at 313 Gallery, November 13 – December 6. He will show a new project called CD 2002 which includes a digital copy of every CD in his collection–289 discs–all of them signed and numbered, with no indication of the artist or music on the disc. There will be a reception for Illegal Art at the gallery on November 13 at 7pm, 313 Bowery. And if that’s not enough, more than 20 of Mr. Doeringer’s paintings and prints are currently included in New York, New Work, Now! at the Currier Museum in Manchester, NH, through January 12.
