SVA Events

October 4, 2002

The SVA Community is invited to attend a Q & A and meet Oscar winning cinematographer Philippe Rousselot. Mr. Rousselot has worked on numerous films, including Planet of the Apes, Remember the Titans, The People vs. Larry Flynt, Interview with the Vampire, and Dangerous Liaisons. This event will begin promptly at 10am on October 9 in the Gene Stavis Theater, Room 502 at 209 East 23 Street.

Joe Paradise, an instructor in the film and video program, will present his short film Punks, October 10 at 7pm in the Amphitheater (209 East 23 Street, 3rd Floor). The film, a raw and surreal vision of the struggling artist, was undertaken by Mr. Paradise partly as an experiment so that he could go through the same process as student filmmakers, using the same equipment and the same method for casting actors. Also on the bill will be Jacques Zanetti’s Soliloquy, which stars Diahnne Dea. Ms. Dea, formerly known as Diahnne Abbott, was once married to Robert DeNiro and has appeared in numerous films, including Taxi Driver, King of Comedy, and Love Streams.
