A Quivering Solo Show

September 20, 2002

Recent SVA graduate and former staff member Paul Amenta (MFA Fine Arts, 2000) is currently showing his work in Quivering Twilight, his second solo exhibition at the Marvelli Gallery. In this show, Mr. Amenta presents a new series of two-dimensional works created on drywall. The work probes his interest in the “sublime.” As perceived by the Romantics in the early 19th century, the sublime is the simultaneous meeting of the beautiful, the terrible, and the sentimental. Mr. Amenta’s work can be seen now through October 5 at the Marvelli Gallery, 526 West 26 Street, 2nd floor.
