A Record of History Through Illustration

June 21, 2002

After the Oklahoma City bombing in 1995, illustrator and alumna Lynn Pauley (MFA Illustration as Visual Essay 1992) created a portfolio of work recording the aftermath. She has since devoted her career to covering such issues of consequence. She doubted she would ever again witness an act of terrorism worse than in Oklahoma, but sadly she was wrong. Fueled by anger and adrenaline days after watching the twin towers burn, she woke up one morning and began painting, not stopping until she had 22 finished works. Ms. Pauley contributed a portfolio of illustrations from 9/11 to this month’s PRINT magazine.
