That Kind of Woman

May 2, 2002

By day Mary Edwards is the College’s web site editor, but at night, well, at night she’s that kind of woman–a soulful and breezy pop songstress, said by many to be “the black Karen Carpenter.” She’s a songwriter and lead singer in the band That Kind of Woman. Now you can see her every Monday evening playing piano and singing at the West Village cabaret, The Duplex. Ms. Edwards’ Monday night residency runs through June 3. The show takes place from 6 – 8pm. The Duplex is located at 61 Christopher Street at 7th Avenue. For more information, visit Mary’s Web site.
