Star Student

May 10, 2002

Tim Dunigan, a BFA Computer Art student completing his freshman year, recently won the Scholastic Art & Writing Award from Scholastic Art and was named “Artist of the Month” by the magazine. While still in high school in Bloomfield, Michigan he created the image “Digital Self-Portrait.” Using Adobe Photoshop, he portrayed the contrasts of things natural and mechanical by visually layering at least 23 different elements. For example, in the image one side of his face is digital and the other side realistic, and his arm appears robotic with visible wiring.
