Harry Awards

March 22, 2002

Recently, Humanities instructor Bill Beckley brought his Film and Literature class to the taping of the History Channel’s Harry Awards 2002. The program, which will air on March 23 at 10pm, is The History Channel’s homage to Hollywood, where esteemed guests review historical films from the previous year. The Harry Award–named for Herodotus, the father of history–goes to the film that contributed the most to the public’s understanding and appreciation of history. After the taping, SVA students were allowed to ask questions and talk to industry professionals. According to one of the producers, the students made quite a positive impression. Be sure to tune in to the History Channel on March 23.
