Around SVA

March 1, 2002

On Monday, March 4 the Film, Video and Animation Department invites the SVA community to a screening of Osmosis Jones followed by a Q & A with animator, storyboard artist, director, and SVA alum Tom Sito (Film 1977). Mr. Sito has worked on such unforgettable films as Shrek, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, and many more. The screening will take place at 6pm in the SVA Amphitheater, 209 East 23 Street (3rd floor).

Got Poems? Bring your work and performing spirit to the Amphitheater on March 5 at 6:30pm for the Spring 2002 SVA Poetry Slam, sponsored by the Humanities and Sciences Department. Guest readers include Felice Belle, a Nuyorican Café poet and slam mistress; and Ann Rower, SVA faculty member and the author of Lee and Elaine. SVA faculty member Joe Verilla will host the event.

Team Sculpture, the ambitious group from the Sculpture Center that’s gearing up to bike over mountains this summer for the 2002 Northeast Aids Ride, is hosting a fundraising event dubbed House Party, March 7 from 5:30 to 7:30pm. The event will include a guest lecture from a member of Pallotta TeamWorks, the organization managing the Aids Ride, and a talk from Team Sculpture about their goals for the ride.
