Tech Visions

February 1, 2002

Christian D. Bruun, director of SVA’s Digital Imaging Center, had his recently completed feature film, On_Line, accepted into the Sundance Film Festival, in the American Spectrum category, where it premiered last month. It has also been accepted by the Berlin International Film Festival. The film, which is about people who spend too much time on the Internet, reveals a complex high tech obsession and is obviously the work of artists supremely confident with the tools of their trade. Bruun served as the visual effects supervisor and artistic and technology consultant for On_Line, which he produced through his company, QuantumFilm. Other members of the SVA community had a hand in creating the film, including Steven Osit, SVA’s network manager, who served as technical supervisor; Kate Schaffer, faculty (BFA Computer Art); Kevin Park (MFA Design 2001); Yui Uchida (BFA Advertising & Graphic Design 2001); and Gerald M. Soto (BFA Advertising & Graphic Design 2001). For more information on the film visit its hyper-mega-uber tech Web site,
