As part of the many February events happening in honor of Black History Month, SVA alum, Ansel Pitcairn (MFA Illustration 1992), will present an installation entitled Inspirations: Portraits of Black Americans Who Made A Difference at the American Museum of Natural History. Inspirations will make its debut on February 1 at a reception held from 1 to 7pm in the Leonhardt People Center at the Museum. Pitcairn’s installation can also be seen on February 5, 7, 14, 26 and 28 from 10:30am to 2pm. Pitcairn’s work includes portraits of Langston Hughes, Joe Louis, Thurgood Marshall, and more.
