From ‘Game of Thrones’ to ‘Marco Polo’: SVA Features Director Daniel Minahan

Next up in the SVA Features series is television and film writer, producer and director Daniel Minahan (BFA 1987 Film and Video), who has directed several episodes of the HBO series Game of Thrones, True Blood, and Six Feet Under, to name a few; directed and produced episodes of the Netflix show Marco Polo; and also wrote and directed the critically acclaimed indie film, Series 7: The Contenders. In the video below, he discusses how he started working with HBO, what inspires him, and how his experience at SVA taught him to be “fearless” and gave him “a leg up” when he started his career.
