Interested in studying abroad for a semester? Beginning this week, the SVA International Exchange Program will host a series of information sessions for next spring’s Semester Abroad programs. The international exchange program pairs students with partner universities, and is available to SVA students beginning their third-year in fall 2016 in the following undergraduate departments: animation, design, film and video, fine arts, interior design, photography and visual and critical studies. (There is currently not an exchange program available for BFA Cartooning students, and BFA Illustration students must consult with the department chair for approval.)
Students can choose from 21 international universities depending on their field of study, and select destinations include Amsterdam, The Netherlands; Beijing, China; Berlin, Germany; Brussels, Belgium; Kyoto, Japan; London, United Kingdom; Paris, France and Prague, Czech Republic.
Students also have the option of applying to the SVA in Rome program, where students take classes taught by SVA faculty on site in the “Eternal City.” SVA in Rome provides students the unique opportunity to study in one of the most historic and artistically significant cities in the world, and to work with local artists, as well as a historian of ancient and medieval Rome. In addition to classroom and studio time, students will have access to the histories of Rome’s architecture, literature and art through field trips to monuments, ruins, churches, museums and galleries throughout Rome and its environs.
