The Sometimes Painful Search for a Fresh Idea in 60 Seconds

November 11, 2015

Have you ever been so anxious about a deadline and creatively blocked that you’ll do just about anything to procrastinate? Then Sarah Richardson’s (MPS 2014 Live Action Short Film) The Box was made for you. The short was written and directed by Richardson during her first semester of the MPS Directing program (formerly MPS Live Action Short Film), when each student is challenged to create a compelling film that is exactly one minute in length using only a camera. Watch it below:

The MPS Directing program at SVA is an intensive one-year masters program in film directing. The program provides a comprehensive, hands-on education in visual storytelling. Each student develops, directs, and completes their thesis film over the course of the program while also attending classes, workshops, and networking with some of the industries leading players.

The department will be hosting an information session about the program on Thursday, November 12 from 6:00 – 8:00pm. For more information, click here.
