SVA students took home Gold, Silver and Bronze honors in the student category at The Advertising Club of New York’s 2015 ANDY Awards for projects created in BFA Advertising faculty member Frank Anselmo’s “Unconventional Advertising” class. The ANDYs began in 1964 as a New York based competition to recognize excellence in print advertising and have since expanded internationally, honoring outstanding achievements across the industry in craftsmanship and innovation.
Minju Cho and Duekhyun Kim won gold for their project “AMNESTY Clothes Hanger,” a campaign for Amnesty International that shows the relationship between the clothes people wear and the sweatshops many of them are mass-produced in.
Yung Hyuk Lee was awarded silver for his Orkin advertisement “Pest Control Experts,” which depicts cute predators of insects and other pests in full Orkin uniform to demonstrate the effectiveness of the company’s services.
Bronze went to Stephen Cho, Christopher Groelle, Man Ki Kim and Yung Hyuk Lee for their LEGO-based project “Every Day is a New Creation,” a campaign that hypothesizes branded daily newspaper segments relating a headlines to possible LEGO constructions.
