SVA Publications Win HOW and Print Magazine Awards

The Visual Arts Press, the in-house design studio at SVA, recently won top awards from both HOW and Print magazines for publications that were produced under the guidance of SVA Executive Vice President Anthony Rhodes (who served as Creative Director) and the College’s Director of Design and Digital Media, Michael Walsh (who served as Art Director).

take425From the HOW In-house Design Awards, the latest evolution of George Tscherny’s SVA logo and Sagmeister & Walsh’s arresting subway poster series for SVA both received Education Merit awards. The 2014/2015 SVA Graduate Catalog also nabbed an Education Merit award from HOW, while the 2014/2015 SVA Undergraduate Catalog earned a Print Regional Design Award. MFA Visual Narrative Department Chair Nathan Fox’s (MFA 2002 Illustration as Visual Essay) comic-inspired “What’s Your Story” SVA subway posters also received a Print Regional Design Award.
