The MFA Design for Social Innovation Department at SVA presents a new speaker series featuring pioneering social innovators who have created lives and careers for themselves by making positive changes in the world. The series kicks off on Thursday, January 24 at 5pm at 136 West 21st Street, fifth floor, with a talk by Michael Murphy, founder of Mass Design Group, an organization that is redefining the impact of architecture and collaborating with organizations like Partners in Health to improve people’s lives through design. On Tuesday, February 12, the series continues with author Jeffrey Hollender, founder of Seventh Generation and one of the country’s most outspoken voices on corporate responsibility and justice. And on Thursday, February 14, Erika Block, founder of Local Orbit, a groundbreaking platform that connects farmers to new markets and gives institutions a way to offer local, farm to table food, shares her insights.
