New Issue of INK, SVA’s Student-Run Digital Comics Publication

December 18, 2012

The new issue of INK, published by SVA and the BFA Illustration and Cartooning Department, is now available as a free app for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch at iTunes. Founded in 2011 by then-students Amedeo Turturro (BFA 2012 Illustration and Cartooning) and Trent Thompson (BFA 2012 Illustration and Cartooning) as the world’s first 100% student-run, exclusively digital comics publication, INK is now helmed by current seniors Andrea Kendrick and Kate Drwecka, and  continues to focus primarily on showcasing the work of students from across SVA’s comics community alongside alumni and faculty, while also providing students with the real-world experience of publishing their work professionally.

The Fall 2012 issue of INK (now available) features an interview with award-winning comics artist Alex Robinson (Box Office Poison, Tricked, Too Cool To Be Forgotten), as well as work by SVA alumnus Nick Sumida (BFA 2009 Illustration and Cartooning) and current BFA Illustration and Cartooning Department students Tyler Boss, Kou Chen, Emily Forster, Suzi Glass, Victoria Lau, Aatmaja Pandya, Allison Streljau  and Wyeth Yates.
