Felix Kim, a current fourth year student in the BFA Photography Department, recently won first place in Photo District News (PDN)â€™s THE LOOK: Where Fashion Meets Art photography contest for his series entitled, “Catch me if you can.”
THE LOOK is an annual competition that celebrates innovative photography within the fashion industry, and this yearâ€™s panel of judges for the Debut/Student category were Shelly Vella, fashion and style director of Cosmopolitan UK; Steven Torres, photo editor for Style.com; Lucy Fox, senior photo editor at Marie Claire; and
renowned fashion photographer and former America’s Next Top Model judge, Matthew Jordan. Judging criteria was based on creativity, photographic quality and effectiveness in expressing the contest theme.
Kimâ€™s winning photos are on view at THE LOOK website and appeared in the October 2012 issue of PDN, which in addition to its regular circulation of 25,000 was sent out to an additional 5,000 influential art buyers, photo editors and art directors.
