Director Lynn Shelton’s (MFA 1995 Photography, Video and Related Media) latest film Your Sister’s Sister opens nationally on June 15th.
Starring Emily Blunt, Rosemarie DeWitt and Mark Duplass, Shelton’s film explores romance, grief and sibling rivalry through the raw humor and emotion of ever-complicated relationships. Shelton’s previous movies include Humpday (2009), We Go Way Back (2006), What the Funny (2008) and My Effortless Brilliance (2008).
That’s My Boy, the screenplay for which was written by SVA alumnus David Caspe (MFA 2005 Fine Arts), debuts in theaters on June 15th as well. The film, starring Adam Sandler, Andy Samberg, and Leighton Meester tells the story of dimwitted Donny Berger (Sandler) who fathered a son in his teens. Years later and desperate to get $43,000 to pay back taxes and avoid jail time, Berger tracks down his now wealthy and successful son, showing up uninvited to his wedding to try and reconnect. Caspe, who was recently profiled in the Visual Arts Journal, is also the writer, director and creator of the ABC TV series Happy Endings, and is currently working on a script for a film starring Charlize Theron.
