Dina Litovsky Wins NPPA Best of Photojournalism 2012 Award

June 5, 2012

SVA alumnus Dina Litovsky (MFA 2010 Photography, Video and Related Media) recently won first place in the Best of Photojournalism 2012 competition, sponsored by the National Press Photographer’s Association (NPPA). Litovsky’s winning entry in the Art of Entertainment category featured three friends looking at a photo they just took at a nightclub in the Bryant Park Hotel while another girl sits alone beside them—a commentary on the effects of our hyper-visual and increasingly socially-connected world.

The annual Best of Photojournalism competition is judged by a committee of renowned leaders in the field of photojournalism, including photographers, editors, and educators. Through their guidance, the competition has become one of the largest and most prestigious photojournalism contests in the world. The National Press Photographers Association, which sponsors the Best of Photojournalism contest, is dedicated to the advancement of visual journalism, its creation, practice, training, editing and distribution in all news media and works to promote its role as a vital public service.
