SVA Portfolios, the online gallery of award-winning and cutting-edge creative work by members of the SVA community, recently won the 2012 Webby People’s Voice Award in the Self-Promotion/Portfolio category.
“We’re really proud of the work of our students, faculty and alumni and we’re honored that the online community is recognizing their talent, too,” said SVA Executive Vice President Anthony P. Rhodes.
SVA will receive the People’s Voice honor at the 16th Annual Webby Awards on May 21 at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. Critically-acclaimed comedian, writer and actor Patton Oswalt will host. Hailed as the “Internet’s highest honor” by The New York Times, the Webby Awards is the leading international award honoring excellence on the Internet.
SVA was the first college anywhere to launch a gallery on Behance as an exclusive online network where its 30,000 alumni, 1,100 faculty members, and 4,100 degree-seeking students could share work, collaborate and build their own communities. The portfolios are also featured in the larger Behance Network, which attracts over 10 million visitors per month.
