Construction of SVA’s new Visible Futures Lab (VFL) on the seventh floor of 132 West 21 Street is well underway. Scheduled to be fully operational by fall 2012, the VFL will be available to MFA Interaction Design and MFA Products of Design students and will feature a woodworking and machine shop, a rapid prototyping lab and an electronics lab, and will act as a gallery space as well. “The VFL will provide the most cutting-edge tools for students to actualize their ideas into tangible forms,” the labs new director, Leif Krinkle, recently told the MFA Interaction Design blog. “I can’t wait to see how their various talents and skill levels use the tools to create things I never imagined.” To read the full interview, click here.
