Honor Roll: Jiwon Kim Wins Adobe Design Achievement Award

February 1, 2011

One of this year’s Adobe Design Achievement Award (ADAA) finalists is alumnus Jiwon Kim (BFA 2010 Graphic Design). In the “Packaging” category, where students were asked to enter product labels, product boxes, bags or on-shelf maketing, Kim won for her Washington Square Park project.

According to the artist’s description, “The crux of the design is inspired by Washington Square Park. Motivated by the characteristics of the arch and water fountain in Washington Square Park, the Infinity logo is designed by using circular and linear shapes in conjunction with three pro-environmental colors used in typography. People can also participate in creating their own patterns, by using shapes of the circle and line on the website or via brochure. The patterns are varyingly applied to roadsides, the entrance of the park, and to the floor of the fountain.”

The ADAA showcases individual and group projects created with Adobe software and aims to honor the most promising students within the field.
