The Office of Student Health and Counseling Services hosted its sixth annual HOPE Art Competition, inviting current SVA students to submit original artworks that addressed the theme “Finding Your Balance,” reflecting some aspect of seeking or achieving a balanced life.
The 26 entries to the competition were put on display at the Monkey Bar Lounge; SVA President David Rhodes chose this year’s winner, who was announced on Thursday, February 17: Anna Santaguida, a senior in the BFA Illustration and Cartooning Department, for her piece Life is a Circus. Santaguida was awarded a prize of $600, and will have her work featured in both print and online advertisements for Student Health and Counseling Services. All of the HOPE Art submissions are on view at the Monkey Bar Lounge, 217 East 23rd Street, through Friday, February 25.
