YoungGuns International (YGI), the 10-year-old competition awarding the best young talent globally in digital, advertising, media and design, has awarded SVA the School of the Year prize in its Student YoungGun of the Year category. Not only that, students from the BFA Advertising and Graphic Design Department were also the recipients of more Bullet awards than any other school.
The 2010 Student YoungGuns of the Year and Gold Bullet award went to students from faculty member Frank Anselmo’s Unconventional Advertising course: Raúl Cosculluela, Bona Jeong, HyoJoo Kim, Chung Woo Lee, Gue Rim Lee and Nikolai Shorr, who were all recognized for their Mini Cooper ad campaign. Another Gold Bullet went to Mark Forsman and Vincent Garbellano for their Jack Daniel’s – Walk the Line iPhone app. Students from the department also earned Silver Bullet (Bomi Jo, Michael Oh and Dahee Song), Bronze Bullet (Leah Alfonso, Jin H. Chang, Hyung Rak Choi, Win Lin and Matt Steedman) and Finalist (Yoshie Asei, Carlos Ochoa, Frankmy Olivo and Pablo Valez) awards.
