In The Press: The New York Times Profiles Corinne May Botz

December 9, 2010

Surveying projects that Corinne May Botz (faculty, BFA Photography Department) has worked on over the past few years, Penelope Green’s article in The New York Times explains Botz’s interest in the human fascination with “stuff.”

Clarifying how agoraphobics, objectophilia and dollhouse dioramas of true-crime scenes play a key role in her work, Green says, “A central tension of American life—the desire to acquire and the subsequent inability to dispossess—is the sore spot [Botz] would like to probe.”
