Honor Roll: Loryn Brantz Wins Moonbeam Award

December 14, 2010

Honoring the year’s best children’s-book authors and illustrators who inspire youthful curiosity, discovery and learning, the Moonbeam Awards have recently celebrated Loryn Brantz’s (BFA 2007 Animation) work with a Gold Award in its First Book–Picture Book category, for Harvey The Child Mime (Hometown 520 Press, 2011), which she wrote and illustrated. According to BFA Film, Video and Animation Department faculty member Howard Beckerman, “the beautifully conceived, lively drawings intensify the humor in this eventful story of a boy whose actions speak louder than words.”

Another book illustrated by Brantz, Magic Letters: The Keys to the World of Words (Lightning Bug Learning Press, 2010), also won a Gold Award in the Reading Skills/Literacy category.
