In The Press: Under Cover in the New Yorker

November 3, 2010

The New Yorker’s Book Bench features alumnus Rodrigo Corral (1995 Graphic Design) and BFA Advertising and Graphic Design Department faculty member Paul Sahre in its online Under Cover” series.

Corral, who worked on the cover of the recently published book by Gary Shteyngart, Super Sad True Love Story, explains how he begins the design process, the aim of a good book cover and the evolution of the cover in the wake of the e-book. Sahre, who designed the cover of Chuck Klosterman’s latest book, Eating the Dinosaur, also answers the same questions and believes that “books will be around for along time to come and that after the dust settles, there will be more of a demand for books to be better designed objects.”
