D-Crit Lectures: ReadyMade for Fall 2010

September 16, 2010

The MFA Design Criticism Department has begun its fall 2010 lectures, a weekly series that brings some of the best designers and design thinkers to the College for up-close-and-personal events.

D-Crit kicked off the series on September 14 with writer Rick Poynor, who discussed the relationship between curating and the process of writing and editing. Next on the list is Jane Thompson, the winner of this year’s National Design Museum Lifetime Achievement Award, who will talk about her 60-year career at the forefront of the design business. Thompson’s talk is on Wednesday, September 22, 6:30pm, 136 West 21st Street, ground floor; admission is free but space is limited, so please RSVP to [email protected].

The lectures, which run through the rest of the fall term, caught the attention of Lily Kane at the blog ReadyMade, who picked highlights from the “killer line-up” of events and said the series is “truly one of the best things going for the design community in New York.”
