Bee Sides

August 13, 2010

In the last several years, beehives across North America have been mysteriously emptying out, leading beekeepers and scientists to a diagnosis of Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD). Alumnus Carter Gunn (BFA 2005 Film and Video) has focused on the phenomenon of CCD for his directorial debut, the feature-length documentary Colony.

The film, which won the Best First Appearance Award at the 2009 International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam, is now screening at the IFC Center, 323 Sixth Avenue, August 13 – 19, as part of the International Documentary Association’s 14th annual DocuWeek festival.
