I Heart NY

July 21, 2010

The office of New York Governor David Patterson is rebooting the iconic I ♥ NY tourist campaign (whose logo was originally designed by SVA Acting Chairman Milton Glaser), updating the 30-year-old TV spots to attract today’s visitors to both New York City and other regions of the state.

MPS Live Action Short Film Department Chair Bob Giraldi recently wrapped a three-day shoot with some of today’s most recognizable Empire State residents, getting footage of New York Jets star Mark Sanchez on a Times Square rooftop, 30 Rock stars Alec Baldwin (at Lincoln Center) and Tina Fey (on the set of Saturday Night Live), and talk-show host Rachel Ray at the Queens County Farm Museum. Each of the spots will highlight the offerings and personalities of New York, and will air nationally to help boost tourism. To see some of the footage shot by Giraldi (and an on-camera interview with the filmmaker), visit the I♥NY campaign’s YouTube channel.
