The annual Tribeca Film Festival has its 2010 edition hitting NYC theaters this week, with daily events and screenings of new films happening April 21 – May 2. One of the films helping to kick off the festival is the premiere of the animated feature Shrek Forever After, which sports a screenwriting credit for alumnus Darren Lemke (BFA 1992 Film and Video). The VIP event screening of the latest Shrek sequel on Wednesday, April 21, adds a new dimension to the festival as the first Tribeca film to be screened in 3D.
During the run of the festival, the College will play host to several films and panel discussions, as the SVA Theatre, 333 West 23rd Street, is one of Tribeca’s official venues. For a schedule and ticket info for films at the SVA Theatre and other festival venues, visit the Tribeca Web site at tribecafilm.com.
