Continuing a series of SVA-partnered contests this spring is the World Creative Imaging Competition, an international photography competition sponsored by Samsung. Samsung partnered with six art schools across the globe, including SVA, then invited 20 students from each to test drive its new NX10 digital cameras and capture images to submit for the competition. The images have been collected in an online gallery where the public can vote for their favorites. After the voting closes on Sunday, April 11, 10 finalists will be announced and have their work exhibited at the Dashanzi Art District 798 in Beijing.
The only student artists from the U.S. invited to compete in the competition are 20 students in the BFA Advertising and Graphic Design Department: Leah Alfonso, Cindy Cho, Jang Hyun Cho, Josh Cohen, Nolan Constantino, Fatimah Kabba, Deaeun Kim, Haeju Kim, Jiwon Kim, Chung Woo Lee, Tiffany Liu, Thomas Losinski, Carlos Ochoa, Michael Oh, Kaya Ono, Kimberly Pasqualetto, Jacqueline Sedgikoski, Thomas Shim, Jarwon Shin and Akira Uchinokura. Visit the competition Web site to vote for images from SVA and other schools.
