- CityArts recently highlighted new courses at SVA in an interview with Joseph Cipri, executive director of the Division of Continuing Education. In response to an alumni poll and the economic downturn, SVA added courses this semester on professional development and the business of art. - The work of alumnus Gina LeVay (MFA 2004 Photography, Video and Related Media) is included in FLYP, an online multimedia magazine. The article features photographs and audio commentary about The Sandhog Project, a series of images she took of workers in the process of constructing a New York City water tunnel. LeVay published a book of the photographs last year.
- Debbie Millman, chair of the MPS Branding Department, was recently featured in a video segment on Print magazine’s Web site. Millman discusses her newest book, Look Both Ways, along with the book’s designer, Rodrigo Corral (1995 Graphic Design). The book is a collection of illustrated essays about various topics including design, music and love, in which each chapter’s text was handwritten, painted or sewn.
