The Office of Student Health and Counseling Services recently hosted its annual HOPE Art Competition. The theme for this year was “healthy self-esteem,” and students from all departments were invited to contribute original artworks, in any medium, that addressed the theme. The HOPE Art Competition reception took place on Thursday, February 12, in the Monkey Bar Lounge, and second-year illustration student Rachel Pontious was selected by the judges from among 21 entrants as the winner for internal eyes for external efflorescence. Pontious was awarded a $300 Visa gift card, and her work will appear in an upcoming advertisement for Student Health and Counseling Services.
Pontious’ work, along with the other entries to the competition, will be on view in the Monkey Bar Lounge, 217 East 23rd Street, through Friday, February 20.
