The first gallery exhibition of the 2008 – 09 school year is “Time Line: Sheila Metzner,” a retrospective of the work of acclaimed photographer Sheila Metzner. The show includes approximately 100 images, drawn from Metzner’s personal collection, and features highlights from her work in several genres—fashion, still life, landscape and portraiture—each rendered in her signature, evocative style. The exhibition also includes several never-before-exhibited works, including selections from the Brooklyn native’s latest series, 36 Views of the Brooklyn Bridge.
“Time Line” is on view now at the Visual Arts Museum, 209 East 23rd Street, through Saturday, October 4. The College will present a special lecture by Metzner, in conjunction with the exhibition, on Tuesday, September 16, 7pm, 209 East 23rd Street, 3rd-floor amphitheater.
