Two members of the SVA faculty will be talking together at the New York Public Library. Painter Judith Linhares (BFA Fine Arts Department) and Tom Huhn (chair of the Art History and Visual and Critical Studies Departments), will be conducting an Artist Dialogue at the Mid-Manhattan Library, 40th Street and Fifth Avenue, on Monday, May 19, 6:30pm. Linhares will present images of her work and discuss her career as a painter with Huhn, in conjunction with her exhibition of paintings, “Gouaches,” at the library through Thursday, August 21. Admission is free and open to the public; for more information, call 212.340.0871.
More talk was in the air from MFA Art Criticism and Writing Department Chair David Levi Strauss, who appeared on the April 25 episode of WNYC radio’s Studio 360. The show, hosted by SVA faculty member Kurt Andersen, brought in Strauss for a discussion of the infamous photos from the Abu Ghraib prison.
