This summer, SVA is offering six Arts Abroad programs developed by the Office of International Studies. The programs in art therapy, painting and photography are for artists who are eager to create serious work in a professional environment while also enjoying a European adventure; additional programs in art history and cinema offer the opportunity to experience the local culture in which prominent works of art were (and are) created. Courses are being offered for two- or three-week trips to France, Italy and Spain: Painting in Florence (May 23 – June 7 or May 23 – June 13), Digital Photography in Florence (May 23 – June 7 or May 23 – June 13), Art, History and Architecture in Southern France (May 25 – June 13), Art Therapy in Florence (June 14 – 28), Cinema in Italy (June 23 – July 4), and Painting in Barcelona (June 27 – July 12 or June 27– July 18).
Each program includes accommodations, guided tours and instruction from SVA’s professional faculty (you can receive a discount by making your own housing arrangements). Slots are still open in all of the study-abroad programs. Visit www.sva.edu/artsabroad for more information.
