Three From One

September 21, 2007

One of SVA’s alumni, Erik Guzman (MFA 2003 Fine Arts, BFA 1996 Fine Arts), is currently slated to show his work in three separate venues in three different cities. First up is the Museo de Las Américas in San Juan, Puerto Rico, which is presenting the group exhibition “Terruño y Paraíso Perdido: Diálogos con la Obra de Carlos Osorio” through Monday, October 15. Next on the list is “Host,” an exhibition that uses installation work to examine the participatory nature of shared spaces, which is on view at the Soap Factory in Minneapolis, Minnesota, through Sunday, October 21. And back in New York City, this week saw the opening of “Electric Lab” at Exit Art, 475 Tenth Avenue. The exhibition is inspired by and dedicated to the scientist Nicola Tesla, who desired free access to electricity for all. Guzman’s sculpture, using light and motion to covey the kinetic energy of a celestial eclipse, will be part of the exhibition through Saturday, November 17.
