Shore Leave

August 24, 2007

Two beach-town locations are showing work by members of the SVA community this summer. In the popular vacation spot of East Hampton, Guild Hall is presenting a solo exhibition by Billy Sullivan (1968 Fine Arts; faculty), on view through Sunday, October 21. The Long Island arts and culture institution is displaying painting, drawings, photography and a multi-media installation by the artist, with subjects including portraits, still lifes and other images depicted in Sullivan’s colorful style.

Further up the Atlantic shore line in Winchester, Massachusetts, is the Griffin Museum of Photography, which is putting on its 13th Annual Juried Show. Curated by Brian Clamp of NYC’s Clampart gallery, the exhibition includes work by four alumni of the MFA Photography, Video and Related Media Department: Dina Kantor (2007), Amy Stein (2006), Daniel Traub (1998) and Shen Wei (2006); along with BFA Photography Department alumnus Lydia Panas (1984). The show is at the museum through Sunday, October 28.
