MFA Photography, Video and Related Media Department student Jade Doskow is working on her thesis project by embarking on a two-part summer trek that will take her around the country and the globe. Doskow began by traveling throughout Europe, shooting photographs of World’s Fair sites and tracking the project on a blog, jadedoskowworldfair.blogspot.com.
With a trio of cameras in her pack, Doskow started in early May by traveling to Barcelona, photographing the site of the 1930 World’s Fair. From there, she headed to Brussels, Paris and Seville before heading back to New York City. After a brief break, she will start the domestic portion of the project, heading to former fairgrounds in the U.S. To see selections of the photos Doskow has already taken, and to track the future progress of the project, click here.
