Art History Department faculty member Paul Werner has a new book on the shelves: Museum, Inc: Inside the Global Art World (University of Chicago Press) is an insider’s look at how museums operate and their role in today’s art world. The book recently received rave reviews in The Philadelphia Inquirer, the UK’s Times Literary Supplement and numerous other publications. Werner spent nearly nine years at the Guggenheim Museum as a gallery lecturer, and brings his experience at that institution to bear in this spirited work.
A slightly less scholarly (but no less enjoyable) book comes from current BFA Film and Video Department student Lisa Tuvalo. She’s written The Adventures of Freddie and Nicky (BookSurge Publishing), a children’s book with illustrations by Heidi Pedretti. Tuvalo’s story follows two young penguins who have a series of cold-weather escapades.
