As the fifth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks draws near, the World Trade Center Memorial Foundation (WTCMF) is presenting an outdoor exhibition on the perimeter fence of the WTC site. “Here: Remembering 9/11” will feature 52 photographic works, including images by MFA Photography, Video and Related Media Department Chair Charles Traub; SVA alumni Brian Finke (BFA 1998 Photography), Sean Hemmerle (MFA 1997 Photography and Related Media) and Jonathan Torgovnik (BFA 1996 Photography); along with several others. Many of the photographs in the show are drawn from “Here is New York,” an exhibition of 9/11-related photography that Traub co-founded in 2001 with Michael Shulan, now creative director of the WTCMF. Also included are 10 newly commissioned large-scale photographs by faculty member Chris Callis, each of which depicts artifacts recovered from the WTC site after the attacks.
“Here: Remembering 9/11” will be on display by the PATH terminal on Church Street through the end of October, and is open to the public.
