  • MPS Art Therapy Department Lecture: For Developing the Hidden Mind: Photography as a Therapeutic Modality, Lena Friedman, MPS, ATR-BC, LCAT, will explore how photography can provide patients with an alternative method to examine feelings.   • Artists Talk On Art presents its final talk of the season: Friday, May 12, Aesthetic Realism: The Opposites of Technique and Feeling in Film, featuring a discussion with award-winning filmmaker Ken Kimmelman and a screening of his latest film, Hot Afternoons Have Been in Montana. The event takes place at 7pm in the Gene Stavis Theater, 209 East 23rd Street, 5th floor. Admission is free for SVA students, faculty, staff and ATOA members; $7 regular admission; $3 for SVA alumni, non-SVA students and seniors.
  • MFA Computer Art Department Open Studios: Visit the studios of MFA Computer Art Department students on Saturday, May 13, 12 noon – 6pm, 132 West 21st Street. There will be a reception on Friday, May 12, 6 – 8pm. This event is free and open to the public.
  • Continuing Education Open Houses: All open houses are from 6:30 – 8:30pm and are free and open to the public. *Monday, May 15: Interior Design, 141 West 21st Street, room 1105C; Computer Art, 141 West 21st Street, room 301C. *Tuesday, May 16: Graphic Design, 209 East 23rd Street, room 311.
  • Art Therapy Lecture: For Mind-Body Work: An Art Therapist, Physical Therapist and Yoga Therapist Collaborate, Craig Hanauer, MA, ATR-BC; Linda Montas, PTMA; and Erica Rooney, MFA, MPS, ATR-BC, LCAT will explore the theories and practices of collaborative therapies applied to psychological and physical issues.
