BFA Illustration and Cartooning Department Chair Thomas Woodruff has established a new partnership between the College and Manhattan’s Dahesh Museum, in conjunction with its “Stories to Tell: Masterworks from the Kelly Collection of American Illustration” exhibition. Starting on Saturday, March 11, with Stephen Savage, and continuing through the spring, Woodruff and other members of the department’s faculty will be presenting a lecture series at the Dahesh. During each lecture, the artist will give a talk and slide presentation, followed by a walk through “Stories to Tell,” exploring each illustrator’s favorite pieces.
In addition to Savage and Woodruff (who will give the final talk in the series, on Saturday, May 6), other participants will include Marshall Arisman (March 18), Yuko Shimizu (March 25), Gregory Crane (April 1), Teresa Fasolino (April 8), Walter Simonson (April 15), Sherry Camhy (April 22) and Michael Flanagan (April 29). The Dahesh is located at 580 Madison Avenue; all lectures are free with regular museum admission.
