BFA Cartooning Department faculty member Gary Panter has been selected for “Masters of American Comics,” a major exhibition showing simultaneously at Los Angeles’ Armand Hammar Museum and The Museum of Contemporary Art. Panter is one of 15 artists whose work will trace the development of American comic strips and comic books during the past century, and speak to the impact comics continue to have on visual culture; other artists selected include former faculty members Harvey Kurtzman and Art Spiegelman. The exhibition is on view November 20, 2005 – March 12, 2006; for more information, click here.
