Recent SVA graduate Soyeon Cho (MFA 2004 Fine Arts) is having her first solo exhibition in NYC. In “Beyond the Forbidden,” at A.I.R Gallery, 511 West 25th Street, Suite 301, Cho takes everyday materials – such as Q-tips, plastic spoons and tacks – and repurposes them into whimsical installation pieces. “Beyond the Forbidden” is on view through Saturday, October 8. Another first comes by way of painter Andy Collins (MFA 1999 Fine Arts), who is having his first exhibition at Mary Boone Gallery, 745 Fifth Avenue. From October 6 – 29, Collins will be showing several of his sensual abstractions, all based on fashion photography.
