Supremacy: Four Paths to Power, a new computer game created by MFA Computer Art Department faculty members Nikita Mikros (MFA 1993 Computer Art) and Matthew Schlanger, along with alumni Jack Chen (MFA 2004 Computer Art) and Haska Su (MFA 2003 Computer Art), has been chosen as a finalist in the 7th Annual Independent Games Festival. This competitive and prestigious festival takes place in San Francisco, from March 9 – 11, where six awards in two categories (Web/Downloadable and the Open Category) will be announced.
In other computer art news, Federico Muelas (MFA 2002 Computer Art) was recently awarded the third prize in the prestigious Art and Artificial Life International Competition 7.0, organized by the Telefonica Foundation in Madrid, Spain. Muelas’s entry, Dripping Sounds, made the final three out of a field of 82 entries from 24 countries.
