In the SVA Galleries

“Sagmeister: Made You Look” is a comprehensive exhibition of works by renegade graphic designer Stefan Sagmeister at the Visual Arts Gallery in Chelsea. The exhibition features graphics and packaging Sagmeister has created for clients, including The Rolling Stones, Lou Reed and Talking Heads, along with new work for the Guggenheim Museum’s Hugo Boss Prize and a billboard project created for a park in Paris, called Trying to look good limits my life, which is exhibited for the first time here.


Sagmeister has been a major force in the design world since arriving in New York on a Fulbright grant in 1987. He currently teaches in the MFA Design Department. “Sagmeister: Made You Look” will be on display at the Visual Arts Gallery, 601 West 26th Street, Suite 1502, November 9 – December 11; there will be an opening reception on Thursday, November 11, 6 – 8pm.

  • “Emerging Artists: Mixed Media,” curated by Jeanne Siegel and Gary Sherman; and “Sculpture as Amalgam,” curated by Andrew Ginzel; BFA Fine Arts exhibitions, Visual Arts Gallery, 601 West 26th Street, Suite 1502, through Saturday, November 6.
