A number of SVA alumni are currently showing work in Brooklyn’s myriad gallery and studio spaces. The D.U.M.B.O. Art Under the Bridge Festival has George Boorujy (MFA 2002 Illustration), Kelly A. Bush (MFA 1996 Fine Arts), Cara Croninger (1973), Christopher Dunbrack (MFA 2003 Fine Arts), Celeste Fichter (MFA 1996 Photography), April Hannah (MFA 2001 Fine Arts), Rita MacDonald (MFA 2001 Fine Arts), Marianne McCarthy (BFA 1990 Photography), Andrea Sanders (MFA 1996 Photography) and Amy Talluto (MFA 2001 Fine Arts) opening the doors of their studios to the public. The festival takes place October 15 – 17; visit www.dumboartscenter.org for more details. Amy Finkbeiner and Rita MacDonald (both MFA 2001 Fine Arts) also have work on display at the D.U.M.B.O. Arts Center, 30 Washington Street, in “There is a Light That Never Goes Out,” October 15 – November 21.
Also over Brooklyn’s bridges is Kate Gilmore’s (MFA 2002 Fine Arts) solo exhibition, “If My Shoes Matched My Dress I Could Destroy You,” at Plus Ultra Gallery, 235 South 1st Street, October 15 – November 14; opening reception: Friday, October 15, 7-9pm.
